Privacy policy
How we handle the information you share with us.
Last reviewed:
This page explains what Commercial Broker Guide collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Commercial Broker Guide is operated by Luckiest Man Ventures LLC, doing business as 8th Replay. Headquartered in Williamson County, Texas, in the greater Austin area. To reach us about privacy, use the contact page.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you sign up for The Brief. We use it to send you the newsletter. The signup form is run by greetform, our own form software, which stores your address.
- Your work email, name, phone number and details about your business and the coverage you want, when you ask for a quote. We use them to match you with a licensed broker and to follow up on your request.
- Your name, work email, phone number and details about your firm, when you claim a broker profile. We use them to confirm you represent the firm, to publish the profile details you give us, and to contact you about that profile.
- Your name, email and message, plus a phone number, business name or website if you add them, when you use the contact form. We use them to answer you.
- Basic technical data, when you visit. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site running and secure.
We do not ask for more than we need. Please do not send us policy numbers, Social Security numbers, bank details or health information through any form.
Broker profiles
Profiles in the directory are about businesses. We build them from public information, such as a firm's name, address, phone number, website, hours, photos, and the rating and reviews on its public Google listing. If you run a listed firm, you can claim the profile to correct it, or contact us to ask for a change or removal.
How we use it
We use your information to send the newsletter you asked for, to pass along the quote request you asked us to pass along, to review and publish broker profiles, to answer your messages, and to run and improve the site.
We do not sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
- Insurance brokers, when you ask for a quote. Asking for a quote means asking us to share your request, including your contact details, with one or more licensed brokers so they can contact you. Those brokers handle your information under their own privacy policies.
- Form software (greetform, which we operate).
- An email service that delivers our newsletter and our replies.
- Website hosting, a database provider and a content delivery network that serve the site.
- Google Analytics, to measure how the site is used.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
Commercial Broker Guide uses Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and which pages lead to a signup or a quote request. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited, browser and device details, and approximate location. We do not send names or email addresses to Google Analytics. We may add other measurement and advertising tools from other companies over time, and we will update this page when we do. You can block analytics cookies in your browser or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
The site may store a few small items in your browser so it works properly, such as the campaign tags on the link that brought you here and a sign-in cookie if you manage a broker profile.
Some stories may include a video or a post from another site. When one loads, that company may set its own cookies and receive your IP address under its own privacy policy. Forms may load fonts through Google Fonts.
